Welcome to the 1st Young Creative Entrepreneurs Club event!

The first YCE Club networking event will take place in July 15th, from 11am till 1pm in British Council Latvia, Blaumana str. 5a-2. Two young entrepreneurs and sustainable designers from the UK are invited to take part:

Nick Rawcliffe, founder and owner of Rawstudio where sustainability and local production is key to Rawstudio’s designs. For example, one of his products uses waste coffee grounds mixed with resin to produce coffee tables. Nick is also YCE 07 alumni from the UK. Nick has won several design awards (including £50k in the Fiat design competition 2008) and was shortlisted for best new exhibitor at 100%Design in 2007 in London. Nick has graduated in Industrial Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art;

Adam Fairweather founder of Re-worked, industrial design, product de¬velopment company that is focused on helping develop new social and environmentally focused projects; Adam has graduated in Product Design from Brighton University and in Industrial Design Engineering programme from Imperial College /Royal College of Art ;

You are very welcome to participate in this event, meet Nick and Adam and find out about their entrepreneurial experience, successes and lessons learned in setting up their creative businesses in the UK and how they navigate the space between creative ideas and the market. Next day, June 16th Nick and Adam will head towards Salacgriva where during two days in Positivus art and music festival http://www.positivusfestival.com/  they will run sustainable design workshops using trash (e.g. plastic bottles, cups etc) which is available at the festival area. Activity will take place in sustainably designed British Council Latvia tent and is open to every festival visitor to take part.
